GEORGE HERRERA TO SPEAK AT HACR LUNCHEON; NAMED FORTUNE BOARD HONOREE

 

San Antonio, Texas – George Herrera, president/ceo of Herrera-Cristina Group, Ltd., will be the luncheon speaker at the Hispanic Association for Corporate Responsibility’s (HACR) 12th Annual Symposium. The luncheon, titled, “Breaking Through: A Road to the Boardroom will be held on Tuesday, May 11 starting at 12:45 p.m. at the Westin Riverwalk. The luncheon is a part of HACR’s symposium -- The Power of Hispanic Inclusion.

 

Herrera is one of the most recognized business leaders in the Hispanic community. For more than 30 years, Herrera has been involved in the growth of Hispanic businesses, first as president of David J. Burgos & Associates and most recently as the President/CEO of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Herrera now sits on the on the board of one of the world’s most influential companies, Cendant Corporation. Herrera was inducted as a fellow in the Wharton Society of Fellows; and he is a member of the Secretary of Labor Committee on 21st Century Workforce. Herrera is also the chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Corporate America Task Force advisory committee. Herrera currently started Herrera-Cristina Group, Ltd., a multi-media communications company.

 

At the HACR symposium, Herrera will be named one of the 2004 Fortune Board Honorees. Herrera and other well-renowned Hispanic business leaders and executives will be recognized at the Fortune Directors Dinner on Tuesday night. The other honorees include Louis E. Caldera, Henry G. Cisneros, Nelson A. Diaz, Patricia Diaz Dennis, and Vilma S. Martinez
